  3. KPD Delegation from Malaysia’s Sabah State visit Japan ~Observed human resource development in Shikoku~

18-21 April,2025

From April 18 to 21, a delegation headed by Ms. Jamilah Ariffin, General Manager of the Agricultural Development Agency (KPD), Sabah State, Malaysia, came to Japan. The 3-member group visited OISCA Shikoku Training Center, where three staff members from the same State are working, and 2 companies that accept technical intern trainees.

Since 1989, OISCA has been operating a youth training center in collaboration with KPD, working to develop young people through agriculture and food processing.

This was their second visit to Japan, following the visit to Nishi-Nippon Training Center last year, and was carried out at the request of KPD to inspect other training centers and companies that accept technical intern trainees from Sabah. After interacting with staff and trainees at the Shikoku Center, the group exchanged opinions on training initiatives at both the Shikoku and Sabah Centers. They also visited companies in Kagawa Prefecture to observe technical training. In addition, they visited agricultural product sales outlets, irrigation facilities, and large retail stores to gather information for rural development in Sabah.
