
From January 9 to 16, 2026, five members of senior management staff of OISCA Japan conducted a working visit to Java Island, Indonesia. The OISCA Japan delegation composed of two senior executive staff from the Headquarters: Mr. Fujii Keisuke, Director, Human Resources Development Division and Mr. Yoshida Toshimichi, Director in charge of Global Sustainability Mission, and three Deputy Directors of Training Centers, namely, Mr. Toyoda Toshiyuki from OISCA Nishi Nippon Training Center, Mr. Chikuda Akio from Chubu Training Center, and Mr. Abe Masayuki from Shikoku Training Center.
The primary purposes of their visit were to observe the actual state of activities of two training centers in Sukabumi, West Java, and Karanganyar, Central Java, to meet with about some 100 Indonesian ex-trainees in Japan, and also domestic trainees, as well as to carry out on-site inspections of various project sites.
Right after their arrival in Indonesia, they headed to OISCA Sukabumi Training Center. They toured the facility of the center and had a discussion meeting with about 40 former trainees living in the nearby area. Then, they inspected the activities of women’s group supported by the grant assistance of the Japanese foreign ministry, and the afforestation site supported by Mitsubishi Corporation. In addition, they made inspection visits to ex-trainees who are running their own self-employed businesses.
On the fourth day, the OISCA Japan delegation went to the area near the Training Center where they carried out an inspection of a high school which is participating in the Children’s Forest Program (CFP). and met with ex-trainees residing in the vicinity of Jakarta. Then, they moved to Semarang, Central Java.
On the fifth day, they went to inspect mangrove reforestation project in a village located in Demak Regency. They also had a discussion meeting with ex-trainees living in the nearby areas. Afterwards, they moved to Yogyakarta.
On January 14, they visited a school participating in CFP activities. Thereafter, they went to conduct an inspection at the 2006 earthquake recovery support school in Klaten Regency. In the afternoon, they moved to Karanganyar.
On January 15, they toured the Karanganyar Training Center and visited a CFP participating school and the reforestation project site supported by the KEIDANREN.
On the last leg, the OISCA delegation, visited the “Yamaki no Mori” reforestation project site supported by a Japanese Buddhist Altar and Buddhist Artifacts Company based in Shizuoka.
