With heavy hearts, OISCA-International regrets to announce that Mr. Nakano Tohihiro, Special Advisor of OISCA-International, passed away at 15:04 on July 9, 2024 at the age of 97. A funeral is scheulded to be held for him in Suginami-ku, Tokyo.
Mr. Nakano was born on November 7, 1926. He studied at Electronics Communication University in Tokyo. Prior to assuming important posts in OISCA-International, he worked in the Nihon Suisan Co.
Mr. Nakano started his career in 1951 in OISCA as Private Secreatry to the Foundting President of OISCA-International, and succesively served in key positions such as Secretary General of OISCA-International in 1978, Vice Chairman of OISCA Japan in 1987, Vice President of OISCA-International in 1989, Chairman of OISCA Japan since 2008 and Special Advisor of OISCA International since 2022.
In 1987, Mr. Nakano led OISCA delegation to the World Bank’s Executive Directors Meeting in Washington, D. C. Mr. Nakano was recipient of Japanese Foreign Minister’s Comendation for international cooperation in 2013.
