On August 26 to 29, 2025, Mr. Kouichi Tani, Shinji Inoue, and Mr. Takakazu Seto,
Members of the House of Representatives, and also members of the Association of Japanese Diet Members supporting OISCA, visited the Philippines.
In Abra Province, they conducted inspections of wide-ranging agricultural training programs at OISCA’s Abra Agricultural and Forestry Training Center, and also pre-departure training sessions for young people aiming to come to Japan as technical intern trainees.
Following that, they visited the tree-planting project site in Ilocos Province and schools participating in the Children’s Forest Program (CFP) in Ilocos Province. They confirmed the success of the tree-planting initiative and environmental education by observing how the mahogany trees planted by the children had grown large and were now providing cool shade across the schoolyard.
In addition, they met with provincial governors, vice governors, and mayors in various regions, and in Manila, they paid a visit to H. E. Mr. Kazuya Endo, the Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines, and held a social gathering with members of OISCA Philippines Chapter.
During their visit to Mr. Raphael Lotilla, Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources, they exchanged views on the continuation of OISCA’s activities and the importance of environmental conservation efforts.
