Children`s Forest Program in Palestine
The first CFP tree planting took place at Talitha Kumi School for Palestinian youth and children which is located in the autonomous Palestinian area of Beit Jala, south of Jerusalem. The planting was organized for May 18, 2000.
The tree planting was not a single ceremony, but was the start of the Environmental Education Project. The idea of the Project is to bring the children of the Palestinian Talitha Kumi School and the Israeli Ben Shemen School together in tree planting and environmental education. The joint activities will contribute to creating a love of nature and gratitude for the blessings of nature among the students of both schools. The project was initiated by OISCA Israel in cooperation with both schools in the hope to help enhance peace and improve the environment.
