  3. Signing of MOU with Fiji Development Bank

On February 7, 2026, the signing ceremony of MOU between OISCA and Fiji Development Bank (FDB) was held at the Embassy of Fiji in Tokyo. The MOU is aimed at supporting former Fiji trainees who underwent training in Japan.

FDB aims to foster economic growth by creating jobs and promoting regional development through financial services designed to support the development of industries—primarily agriculture—and small and medium-sized enterprises. The Chairman of FDB is Mr. Damend Gounder, who is a former trainee in Japan (1986, OISCA Nishi Nippon Training Center). Thanks to his efforts, discussions were held between OISCA and its Fijian counterparts the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the FDB,and repeated deliberations took place regarding support for OISCA’s agricultural training programs. As part of these efforts, the FDB has decided to provide former trainees in Japan with loans on favorable terms to support their entry into agricultural business or business expansion, as well as to offer opportunities to learn basic financial knowledge and business management skills. Discussions are continuing regarding support for travel expenses during training visits to Japan.
