Poverty Alleviation Project through Growing of Stevia

The project is initiated by OISCA Paraguay with the support of the Inter-American Development Bank. It aims to improve the living conditions of the local farmers while helping the country to cope up with the international market`s growing demand of stevia. Stevia known to be a natural sweetener but with almost zero calorie is almost 300 times sweeter than an ordinary sugar. As a natural medicine, it is largely used for drinks and cakes today.

The project is in line with the national development plan of Paraguay.
