Last year, OISCA Mongolia Chapter exchanged a memorandum of understanding with Dalanzadgad City, the provincial capital, for cooperation in international exchange and greening activities, and decided to promote afforestation activities with the participation of local residents. Tree planting is scheduled to begin next spring.

In August, OISCA headquarters staff visited Dalanzadgad to observe the planned reforestation site and discuss future activities with the deputy mayor of Dalanzadgad City and other city officials. He was interviewed by local media and said that there were high expectations for the project. Besides the desert afforestation project, six schools in the province have been selected to participate in the Children’s Forest Program, and each school is scheduled to plant approximately 100 trees.
