  3. A Message from OISCA Japan President on Corona Virus Response

May 12, 2020

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is giving awful threats to us today. I wish to express my sincere sympathy and condolences to the families and friends who lost their loved ones due to the disease, with an earnest prayer that this Pandemic will subside soon. Many are devoting their time and energy to the treatment of the patients, even risking their suffering. I extend my respect and appreciation to all of them.

Intensifying natural calamities have hit and inflicted enormous damages continuously. The meteorological agencies called many of them unprecedented. Still, for the first time, the invisible virus attacking us today is giving terrible ordeal to everyone irrespective of their social status or wealth. In all countries, governments and peoples are making the utmost efforts to contain this lethal disease and restore healthy economic activities. Yet, we have no comfortable pictures of the future.

Over the past decades, globalization has progressed, enormously accelerating the flow of goods, money, and humans, which has given considerable benefits to many communities. Still, negative aspects have also unfolded, as shown in the widening gaps between the rich and the poor. The founder of OISCA, Rev. Nakano Yonosuke, strongly advocated that humankind needs to depart from their attitude of selfishness that seeks the present materialistic prosperity only. He taught us about the viewpoint from the Universe and a new path for humankind to follow in the future. Please permit me to be frank; I think the crisis we face today may allow us to achieve a paradigm shift, and drastic transformation; an invisible existence might be providing us a prompt for that.

I pray for the human race tiding them over this global crisis. I sincerely hope that people will locate and share the values and the vantage point of the Universe, as advocated by the OISCA founder. I pray that all people will be able to work concertedly towards new lifestyles, industries, and economic activities to enjoy a sustainable future. Although we cannot foresee how the crisis turns, we need to do our level best to promote the OISCA movement. I heard that people near OISCA training centers appreciate the supply of farm products from the centers, for which I also want to pay my appreciation. I wish you all good health and well-being.
