Project staff briefing the minister

The Project to Improve the Livelihoods of the Socially Vulnurable Groups through Mangrove Forest Retoration in Ranong Province ended the 3-year plan. The closing ceremony was held on January 25 at a hotel in the same province and was attended by around 200 people from the villages and local authorities involved in the project, as well as senior officials from the provincial government, who spoke highly of the importance of the mangrove forests and the work being done to improve livelihoods through the products they produce.

The lively presentations by the project members showed the results of their efforts, and a video of a training visit to Japan last May attracted much attention from the participants.

Meanwhile, on January 22, Mr. Phatcharavat Wongsuwan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment who was visiting Ranong Province, came to observe the Project. It was a valuable opportunity for the members who have been engaged in the activities to report on the results of their efforts.
