Project Description	The introduced cuttings of Japanese variety of apple were grafted to the local varieties and resulted to the sweeter fruit varieties after two years. It was named “sakurai apple” in honor of Mr. Shohachi Sakurai, who brought the cuttings to the village, in coordination with OISCA. The Sakurai apple is now gaining popularity within Azerbaijan, which helped increase the income of the local farmers.
